A not-for-profit visual arts collecting society.
The Picture Industry Collecting Society for Effective Licensing (PICSEL) was created to offer choice of representation for visual arts rightsholders, and their representatives in the field of secondary licensing. We were formed in 2016 by Rightsholders as a not-for-profit Collective Management Organisation (CMO) for Visual Artists, commonly called a collecting society, and more recently a VACMO. We have made it possible for rightsholders “to have the right to authorise a collective management organisation of their choice to manage their rights” as stated in Clause 4(a) of The Collective Management of Copyright (EU Directive) Regulations 2016.
